More Than a Building

Originally christened the Wardell Hotel, The Park Shelton was named for Fred Wardell, founder of the Eureka Company. The hotel was immediately distinguished by its innovative services and facilities.

Indoor fountains, separate men's and women's floors and lounges, and exquisite meals served in grand style in the Green Room restaurant all signified the Park Shelton's unrivaled amenities. Furthermore, guests could use a unique "Servidor," located at the front door of their rooms, allowing for porters to gather washing during the night and deliver it freshly laundered in the morning.

That innovative spirit is alive in the Park Shelton today. The Park Shelton has set the new benchmark for historic renovations and luxury living in the City of Detroit.
